Updates
How Desktop and the Android app stay up to date.
Desktop
BambooKit Desktop checks GitHub Releases when it starts, downloads a newer version in the background and then asks you to Restart (or later). You can also choose Check for Updates... in the app menu. Pre-releases are ignored.
Android
The app checks the BambooKit for Android releases at most every 6 hours and when you press Check for updates in Profile → App updates. The updates screen shows the version you have, the newest real release and its release notes (What's new). When a new version exists, a banner offers Update or Skip this version. The app downloads the APK (with progress) and opens Android's installer; you always confirm the install. The first time, Android asks you to allow BambooKit to install apps.
Every release is signed with the same BambooKit key, so updates install over the existing app and keep your sign-in.
Website and cloud
This website and BambooKit Cloud are updated on the server; there is nothing to install. The Account page and the home page list the latest Desktop and Android releases with their release notes and downloads.
Desktop compatibility
New phone and website features sometimes need a newer BambooKit Desktop on the PC. Each PC reports which features it supports, so when yours is too old the phone and this site show Update BambooKit Desktop instead of an error, with details: what needs the update, the version you have and the version needed (on the phone, tap ⓘ).

To update, restart BambooKit Desktop (it updates itself when it starts), choose Check for Updates... in the app menu, or install the latest version from the home page.
