Approvals and questions

Answer the agent's permission requests and questions from your phone or this website.

The agent's permission rules decide what it may do on its own. When a rule says ask, for example before it runs a command or edits a file, the agent pauses and the request appears in Desktop, on your phone and on this website as an approval. The phone and the website can only answer requests the agent made; they cannot grant anything by themselves.

Each approval shows what the agent wants to do: the command it will run, or the file it will change with the proposed diff (the full details need a recent BambooKit Desktop).

Set the rules

In Desktop, Settings → Permissions sets each tool to Allow, Ask or Deny. Typical tools that ask: running shell commands, editing files, fetching URLs.

Answer

ButtonEffect
Allow onceThis one action proceeds
AlwaysThis action and matching ones are allowed for the rest of the session
DenyThe action is refused and the agent is told

Answer on the phone in the Approvals tab or from the notification, or on this website's Approvals page (also at the top of the session page).

Questions

Sometimes the agent asks a question instead, for example which option to use. You get a BambooKit has a question notification, and the question appears under Approvals on the phone and the website.

Question typeHow to answer
Single choiceTick one option
Multiple choiceTick every option that applies
Free textType your own answer in the box (offered alongside the options when the agent allows it)

A request can hold several questions. Submit sends the answers once every question is answered; Dismiss tells the agent you won't answer. The agent continues on the PC with your answers.
