Live updates
How changes reach your phone and this site in real time.
Every signed-in device keeps one live connection (Server-Sent Events) to BambooKit Cloud. Your PC sends changes as they happen; the cloud forwards them to your other devices.
What is live
| Update | Saved? |
|---|---|
| Session status, title, current action, change counts | Yes, in the index |
| New and answered approvals | Yes |
| Notifications | Yes |
| Devices coming online or going offline, pairing, revocation | Yes |
| Chat text as the agent writes, tool steps, changed-file lists | No, live only |
Saved updates are numbered. When a device reconnects it asks for everything after the last number it saw, so nothing saved is lost while it was offline (up to 14 days). Live-only updates are not replayed; the app simply reloads the chat from the PC.
Online and offline
- A PC is online while its live connection is open, which requires BambooKit Desktop running and signed in. Sleep, hibernation and network loss make it offline.
- A phone is online while its app is connected, or for 2 minutes after its last request.
- A connection sends a heartbeat every 20 seconds and reconnects by itself (after 1 to 30 seconds).
Reading from the PC
When you open a chat, file, diff, file map or diagram, BambooKit Cloud asks your PC over its connection and passes the answer back within 20 seconds. Nothing is saved on the way.
