Pairing your phone

Link your phone to your PC with a one-time QR code.

Pair

  1. On the PC: click the BambooKit chip → Add mobile device. A QR code appears with a countdown.
  2. On the phone: Devices → Scan QR code (or Pair a PC on Home).
  3. The PC shows a notification that the phone is connected, and the phone lists the PC.

Both devices must be signed in to the same account.

The QR code

PropertyValue
Contentbambookit://pair?t=<random one-time token>
Valid for2 minutes; a new code appears automatically, or press New code
UsesOnce. Creating a new code cancels the previous unused one
ContainsNo password and no session token. BambooKit Cloud stores only a hash of it

How devices prove who they are

  • Each PC creates its own device key the first time it starts and keeps it encrypted by Windows. Every request from the PC is signed with that key, so nobody can impersonate your PC with a copied password or token.
  • Each phone gets a random installation id. A phone can only send actions to PCs it is paired with.
